Countryside life is a mystery and a curiosity for a large percentage of today’s population.
Rural day, with shepherding
Spend a full day on a farm in the middle of the Malcata Mountains (Natural Reservoir), working on and learning regenerative agriculture. Discover Jarmelista Cow, Churra do Campo Sheep and Charnequeira Goat, as well as the old and traditional agricultural practices. Partake in the making of fresh cheese and delight with a traditional Portuguese lunch!
Price: 70 € / person (Half day: 50 € / person).

Sunset Picnic
Sunset is a magical moment. It is an end of cycle; a moment of contemplation and definition of new objectives/desires. Beir’Aja wants to take you to the best view of Beira and offer you a picnic with the best local products, while you watch the descent of the most important star, around which we all revolve: the sun! On clear nights, you might even be lucky enough to witness the impressive shooting stars!

Duration: Between 2 to 4 hours

Honey Tasting
Honey is a product from various provenances. The place where the bees live and pollinate directly influences colour, texture and flavour of the honey they produce. For most of us, this isolated detail is something we never thought about, and because of it we always consume the same kind of honey. In this tasting you will have access to Rosemary honey, orange tree honey, chestnut tree honey and others, that will wake up your senses and allow you to find out that, after all, there is a honey kind for each use and taste. Challenge your senses!

Wine Tasting
Wine is an excellence product for thousands of years! Suitable for following a simple meal or to celebrate a special occasion, its distinguished by its fermentation process and selected grape varieties. In this tasting we will visit a cellar, get to know the production method of Beira Interior Region’s finest wines and taste up to 7 different wines, with different tastes, textures and even retail prices. Release the winemaker inside you!

Beir’Aja Picnic
The best products of the Region, collected directly from the producer. We add gastronomy, sweets, seasonal fruit and also the artisanal processing of products collected in the area, such as juices or teas with local herbs/fruits. We bring the picnic to you, so you just have to sit back and enjoy.

Pollen Extraction
Bees are the main pollinators of our Habitat, and a species that deserves our most protection and care. During the pollination process, strategies are adopted so that the bees drop some pollen when arriving the beehive. This pollen is collected and prepared to multiple ways of consumption. Come with us watch the arrival of this precious nutrient, it’s preparation and learn about its various benefits, as well as tasting it in loco.

Sensory Vintage Experience
September is the month per excellence of the vintage. In this experience we are going to visit a cellar in full vintage labour, understand what makes a totally mature grape ready to pick, and how all of this reflects the wort’s flavour. Do you know what wort is? We will taste it, understand how fermentation is made and finally taste the wine from previous years. Allow for your senses to guide you!

Visit a Beehive
(As long as temperature is higher than 16ºC): Bees are the main pollinisers of our Habitat, and a species that deserves our most protection and care. To get to know this animal and show all the respect it deserves, we will visit it’s home in the middle of the Malcata Mountains (Natural Reservoir), and observe Nature in full labour. All the protective gear will be provided.

Duration: 3 hours
Open Season: From March to June and from September to November
Capacity: Minimum 2, maximum 3 persons (Older than 8 years old)
Requirements: Bring high or medium boots. Sign responsibility term because of bee stings.
Honey Extraction
Bees are the main pollinators of our Habitat, and a species that deserves our most protection and care! Besides allowing us to prosper, they’re also responsible for the creation of a beautiful and sweet nectar: honey! Come with us to visit a honey factory and watch it’s extraction. In the end, of course, you will taste this delicious product.

Olive Oil Experience
Olive oil is one of the finest products this Region has to offer, and you can be a part of its making! Come with us to a traditional olive grove, with centenary olive trees, and pass through the traditional and contemporary harvest processes. Visit an olive press and learn how olives are transformed in olive oil. In the end we taste olive oil from previous harvests, followed by a typical Portuguese countryside snack.
